Karen was also involved in research in 2017/18 with Marie Slevin, Psychologist and Professor John Murphy, Neonatologist, National Maternity Hospital, Dublin. Their Pilot Study looked at the Feasibility of Therapeutic Listening for Preterm Infants with Sensory Dysregulation, Attention and Cognitive Problems, and was published in the Irish Medical Journal in 2019.

Karen’s extensive experience both at home and abroad has helped her to develop a unique and innovative programme for families called “Looking at the Pieces of the Jigsaw”. Karen’s “Pieces of the Jigsaw” approach looks at all of the jigsaw pieces with each child, including biomedical status, sensory, motor, speech and language, social interaction and engagement and learning in general. By combining sensory integrative and other neurological/neuroplastic techniques with more traditional speech and language therapy approaches, we are achieving excellent results, helping each child achieve their greatest potential. Karen is eager to share her extensive knowledge and experience with families to help each child to achieve their true potential.
